ABOUT DAN:
Dan Helland has been privileged to be a Professional Photographer all of
his adult life.
This year marks continuing milestones for him in an exciting career that began in 1956, when he first studied and practiced the crafts and sciences of photography
while on duty with the U.S.Navy.
After those early years, while he and his wife, Connie, were raising their family
of four children in Green Bay, Wisconsin, his subsequent home for the next twenty-six years, he continued in the "usual" photo studio business, as most people know it.
It was during this time that he created "LAMBEAU FIELD, 1961"
Portraits, Weddings, Family Groups and High School Seniors were mixed in with assorted Commercial and Industrial assignments, in Paper Mills, Factories and on Advertising Location Shoots. Years later, after gaining the opportunity to photograph over 275 star-studded performances at the 1,000+ seat Carlton West Dinner Theaters in Green Bay and Minneapolis, and at other major area venues, he began specializing in Theatrical and Stage Performance Photography, and was honored to work with many of the most talented World-Famous Performers of the last Quarter of the 20th Century.
This, in turn, led him to re-locate to Nashville, Tennessee. where he concluded
many more exciting years within the Country Music Industry, working closely on a regular basis with the World-Famous, the Near-Famous, and the Wanna-Be-Famous.
Now, recently retired after those interesting, exciting and fulfilling years behind the lens, he has the enviable option of being able to select when and where to accept an occasional assignment of ongoing interest to him .
But, most important over those many years, is the fact that he's managed to create and maintain his impressive negative and digital files that are both as surprising and as widely varied as you can possibly imagine.
